Swordsman | Archer | Blacksmith | Mage | Ninja Blacksmith in Team Death Match The Blacksmith can be a gamebreaker in TDM in well played hands. Despite the fact that the Blacksmith is a very strong character, your primary objective in TDM is *not* going to be to score kills. Your primary objective is a bodyguard of sorts for any ranged characters on your team, thanks to the awe-inspiring Walking Gaurd. All Blacksmiths on the team should identify their "charge" before the match. (charge being the person they are intent on protecting). The method of play is to always be arms length from your charge (if you can) and put up your guard against anyone who attacks your charge, melee or ranged, then attack when you can. Play very defensively and never let your charge get too far away from you. Anyone who is foolish enough to attack the two of you alone will be easily defeated by the pair, but the majority of your combat will be team versus team. In these situations, you will again want to keep any melee off of your charge, allowing him to kill as much as possible, and put up your guard against any incoming ranged attacks (standing inbetween the attacker and your charge). Your charge can fire from behind your mobile guard, creating a duo of unbreakable defense and unstoppable offense. Your objective is not to be on the top of the score chart, it is to make sure your team wins, and as a Blacksmith you can best accomplish this goal defensively. Archer works wonderfully for this technique, but the Mage has something else going for him when he is the Blacksmith's charge. The mage's grip is a freeze attack, which allows his teammates to hit his gripped opponent for the duration of the freeze. When your mage charge lands this grip, open up with a 360 degree hammer spin (with no knockback due to the freeze) and decimate the gripped opponent. This three or four hit combo is one of the most powerful combos in the game. Under normal circumstances, the hammer spin only hits once or twice, by then knocking the opponent away. When they are frozen however, they take every last painful spinning hit. Blacksmith in Golem Wars Blacksmith is the second best Golem-slayer in Rakion. That title, of course, goes to Ninja due to the speed at which they can kill the golem, but a very important fact which should not be overlooked is how much more damage the Blacksmith can take while trying to slay the golem. Considering this, Blacksmith is a very formidible character to take into any golem game, but particularly games with two skilled teams who will be protecting their golems well. Basic Golem-Slaying Strategy: You will need one attack to kill every golem. Jumping Hammer Smash. Run right up any side of the golem (even directy in front of him) and jump smash. Get in the habit of jumping straight up, moving no direction, and coming straight down with your hammer. The moment you hit the ground, run a counterclockwise half-circle to the back of the golem. He is very powerful and very slow, so running a circle around him should cause you to avoid his punch and reach his back before he can face you to line up another punch. As soon as you get behind him, jump attack again, hit the ground, and run another counterclockwise half-circle while he tries to punch you again. You should see the golem spinning in a circle trying uselessly to kill you while you smash his rocky head into rubble. Four good well-placed jumping smashes is usually enough to take out a golem. Run to the gold golem and repeat the process. This is the best and fastest way to level up your Blacksmith.
