Swordsman | Archer | Blacksmith | Mage | Ninja Archer Fighting Techniques: -Written by dssjoek Blacksmith and Swordsman I will use blacksmith as a melee enemy in my example. When they are far away, they will either charge you (most blacksmiths do) or block their way towards you (more elite blacksmiths will block). In the first case, you should just shoot in the direction they are running. One thing about becoming a great archer is shooting ahead. You must know where they are moving and shoot ahead in order to actually hit them. When you shoot, it's not an instant hit - it takes time for the arrow to fly. This is the most difficult task for an archer, aiming ahead. If they are not an expert, they usually run in a zigzag motion, so you are able to get an idea of where they will move. But more advanced player will block and move slowly towards you. These are the ones that you need to be on your guard against. If this happens, then you need to run toward them and get close. When you are close enough, you need to dodge ANY attack since they will HURT, ALOT, and counter attack. Archers need to be VERY fast with reaction and must be good counter attacker. As an archer, you need to be well trained in jumps also. The best way to dodge is by jumping over the enemy. Right when you jump towards them, they usually do 1 or 2 slash combo or dodge attack and this will give you time for 2 shots. If they tried to grab you, then it's a free 3 shots. Mage They are little critters and are hard to hit. You should use same technique as Blacksmith and Swordsman, but you must be careful about few things. Mages have good range attacks. Fireball and homing fire missile (that's what I call them), come out from nowhere and damage you ALOT. Other than that, aiming is the key point. Ninja Because of their speed, they are very difficult. You will be able to get only 1 shot off compared to 2 shots at BS SM or Mage. You must be patient and must know to have tactics to run and shoot. They will follow you until you are dead, so you should run and shoot them when you get the chance, other than that, due to their speed, I find it very difficult to aim ahead. I advise to stay away from them, but if you can't then you must have patience and good mouse reaction time. Archer Against another archer, it's matter of who has better stats and who has better equipment and also who can predict movement better. It's just up to who is the better player and there's nothing really to say. But one trick I did learn is to jump more. when you jump you give the other archer more headache by trying to aim not only horizontally but also vertically. Team Match In team matches, you are a supporting class. You are better off when you have a melee in front of you blocking and charging and you give support fire. When you give support fire, you help teammates do more combinations and more damage. If they are being attacked, you can give them room to run away by breaking enemy's combination attacks. Always be attentative to other players and do NOT try to 1vs1 with anyone unless you are DEFINITELY sure your teammate does not need help. This is the reason why ventrilo/teamspeak is recommended. In golem matches, give supporting fire to the golem if your teammate is trying to kill the golem. If there is an enemy trying to kill the golem, shoot them and it will help your teammate kill them. Just remember, supporting archer is the best archer in any team games. Solo Matches In solo DM, you need to find a good spot FAR from action. As an archer, you do not need to be in the middle of where everyone is slashing and bashing each other. You just need to find a spot that is least noticable and fire in the crowd. You are bound to hit someone and bound to steal others kills. If there isn't any crowd, look for players with the LEAST armor on and focus fire on them. The LEAST armor means the least health and it's easier to kill. Always remember to watch your back while shooting. When you are in firing mode, your view is zoomed in. My suggestion is to put yourself infront of a wall. This will eliminate LOTS of backstabbing and gripping. One sidenote I would like to put is this: if you get your timing right, then there's one thing you can do to noobs. When they are close to you, you shoot one arrow and when they are hit, put another shot, this will stun them and will give you EXACTLY the time you need to shoot another arrow. This is why it's important to time your pull right. If you are successful, you can kill someone just be shooting at them CONSTANTLY without them blocking. Noobs have tendency not to block and try to hit right when you shoot arrow. and if you shoot them constantly, they get frustrated and they either move sideways, which you can move your mouse while pulling and shoot them, or they run away which you still can shoot them.
