What is Rakion?

Rakion is a third-person online shooter where you join rooms and play a set amount of rounds, like Gunz, but with medieval/fantasy characters, a special mode called "Golem Wars", the ability to level up, buy new equipment, and summon creatures. Team vs Team, Free For All, or solo/cooperative modes, Team vs Team can include Team Deathmatch or Golem Wars.

Can I run Rakion?

For the Minimum, Suggested and Recommended Specifications. Visit the Official Requirements Page.

Where can I download Rakion?

Click here - download the client, register, and start the launcher. Make sure the Rakion tab is selected and Press the download button, it will download, then you can install and restart the launcher to update and start playing.

What's the best class?

Each classes have their strong points and weak points. Before you create a character and jump into games, I suggest you read up on each characters individual traits, read through guides and play through the tutorial to get a better grasp on the character. Once you jump into a multiplayer game, there is a certain number of days before you can delete your character.

How do I play?

Go to this page and click your class and read about what keyboard/mouse combinations you need to do to perform certain moves. Also, try the tutorial before you play for your first time.

How do I change settings? take off the music? change the resolution?

In your Rakion directory, run risoption.exe.

I was in Closed Beta and can no longer connect to Rakion. How do I fix this?

You are using the old client, you will need to redownload the new client.

What are stages?

Stages are time attack games where you play with 0-2 other people against monsters and the timer, the faster you go, the better your grade, and the more exp and gold you get. After you get a grade, you cannot recieve the bonus for that grade again, only for completing the mission. If you get a B, then you get an A, you get the A bonus minus the B bonus, so don't try to get every grade on each stage - it doesn't help.

What is Solo Deathmatch?

A free for all mode, kill whoever you want to. Pay attention to anyone who says "This is a 1v1" or something similar, it's a duel and they don't want you interrupting them until one dies.

What is Team Deathmatch?

Red vs Blue, kill the opposing team and still watch for people who are dueling although it's seldom an issue in a team deathmatch, although it's generally frowned upon when you gank someone [more than 2 people attacking 1], most people don't care because it's just part of the game.

What is Golem Wars?

Your base has a golem of your color, in approximately the middle of the map is a golden golem, and at the enemy base is a golem of enemy color. There are two goals on this map, either kill the enemy team (you don't respawn until the next round in golems) or kill the golden golem, then kill the enemy golem. Be careful, the gold sword doesn't stay on you forever, about 2-3 minutes I think.

How do I buy equipment?

In the lobby you can go to the store, there is a button on the bottom for inventory, then on the bottom of your inventory should be a button to go to the shop. Look at the various buttons on top and on the bottom of the left side to change what items you are looking at to buy. To buy an item, drag it to the right and press yes, to sell an item, have it in your inventory, and drag it to the left side while in the shop. Make sure to equip items by putting it on the appropriate slot in your inventory after you buy them. For information on what should should buy, see our Buying Guides.

Why can't I pick up health, I'm hurt!

There are two bars, your main health bar, and a sub-health bar (red skinny line at the top). The sub-health bar measures whether or not you can pick up health, and how much health a health will heal. You cannot pick up a health is you sub-health bar is full, and if it's just nicked off you'll barely heal at all. The sub health bar is about 1/2 of your normal health bar, so if you're at a sliver of normal health, and you're at a sliver of sub-health, and you pick up a bunch of heals, you should fill your sub-health bar by the time you reach about half health. This is to prevent immortality by running and getting a ton of heals. When you get hit your sub-health bar goes down along with your normal one, the sub-health bar seems to go down more when hit with bigger comboes and stronger attacks, rather than completely proportionally with your normal health bar.

What are those books?

Books add CP if you are under max CP, CP is used to summon monsters and your CP counter is the gold number in the circle in the upper left. There is also a sub-CP bar, the blue one under your sub-health bar, and if it's full, you can't pick up books, and like the sub-health bar, if you're near full you won't get full CP from the book, but only an amount proportional to the distance from full.

How do I fall without taking damage?

Everyone can use their special to fall without taking damage, but it isn't always effective, and the mage's is really hard to pull off. Specials are done by pressing both mouse buttons just before landing, you will use the skill and hit the ground safely, except mages, it only works sometimes and it's a different timing if I recall correctly. Ninjas have the best method: WWRC (w w right-click) just before you hit the ground and you will have absolutely no delay from your fall and you won't get hurt. In the closed beta at least, not sure if the open beta will have this, you could jam space while you fell and when you hit the ground you would jump and not take damage, didn't always work for me though.

It's a golem game, someone has the gold sword, what now?

If a teammate has it, guard them, at all costs just keep the enemy off of the golden sword carrier to allow him to kill the golem. Always be near the one with the gold sword unless you're distracting the only 1/2/3/etc. on the enemy team, make sure no enemies could be on your gold sword carrier if you aren't with him. If the enemy has it, make sure they don't hit your golem, just try to stop them from hitting it, and kill them.

It's a golem game, what do I do if the Gold Golem is just a Gold cloud?

We haven't figured out what causes this, the most common thing to blame would be lag. If this occurs, I suggest going after the other players.

How do I grab?

You grab by going in front or behind an enemy while they are stationary (possible while moving but extremely difficult) and pressing both mouse buttons at the same time. It takes a lot of practice to master, but here are a few tips to help you master it faster. Read my backstab list to find opportunities to grab people here. Also, it's generally easier to get a grip if you stop a split second before you grab, so get in position, let go of any directional keys and then press both mouse buttons, all within 1/2 second. It is possible to grip while moving but it is harder and requires precise timing, you just need to practice ALOT if you want to be able to do this, I've even grabbed someone on a ledge while I was falling past it, and pulled them down to the level I was falling to AND didn't get hurt from the fall. Generally, it's almost impossible to grip someone with over 100 ping, hit tab to check a player's ping, although it is possible but generally only on high-delay attacks.

How can I summon creatures?

You must first purchase creatures from the Shop and place them into your Cell slots. By default, you have a Lvl 1 Nak in your Inventory. Once you equip it into the first Cell slot, you can use the number "1" on your keyboard to summon a Nak when you have sufficient Cell Points.

How do I gain Cell Points?

You gain Cell Points by accomplishing goals, (for example, killing the person with the Golden Sword in Golem Matches) killing other people, or by special means such as the mages shield. Each character has a different fixed maximum points that can be increased with items or by increasing the attribute: Max Cell Point.

Why do some items have a P beside them?

These items are only purchasable by Power Users.

I was in Closed Beta but did not receive my exclusive ring. What did I do wrong?

It seems as though some people who participated in Closed Beta did not get the exclusive ring. You can e-mail them and hope they fix the problem.

I haven't killed anyone, but my Chaos Bar is going up, what gives?

When you lose a round, you gain 1/2 of bar on your Chaos Bar. When you kill someone, you gain a full bar.

How do I whisper friends?

Type "/say name message" without quotes, and where the name is caps-sensitive.

How do I find where my friends are?

Type "/where name" without quotes, and where the name is caps-sensitive.

How do I join a room my friend is in quickly?

Type "/join room" where room is the game number as stated in the message output when you type "/where name".
