Swordsman | Archer | Blacksmith | Mage | Ninja Blacksmith Chaos Guide: -Written by Raij The huge Chaos Blacksmith is the premier "mortal-slayer" of Rakion, which means he can take out a larger number of non-chaos players in a short amount of time compared to any other class in chaos, with the exception of a good sniping Chaos Mage from range. This is due to his huge arcing attacks and his three hit combo, which finishes the third hit in a well-sized AOE. Note that this guide assumes the reader is aware of the basics of Chaos, including how to get into Chaos, and how the Chaos timer is affected by your actions. The Chaos mode Blacksmith has four attacks: the three hit combo, a 360 degree hammer spin, a running 360 hammer swing, and the jump attack. Three Hit Combo (Leftclick, Leftclick, Leftclick) This move will be the most frequently used ability you have in Chaos. It's a three hit combo which swings the first two hits back and forth in a wide horizontal arc that can hit multiple people, followed by a ground smash on the third hit which creates an AOE attack that can also hit multiple people. This move is good for clearing out a large group of people and great for taking on individuals, but keep in mind that you do not have to take all three swings. It is recommended that you take a two swing approach when fighting a single opponent, because that minimizes your delay and allows you to kill more players in a lesser amount of time. The two-swing technique also works very well against multiple opponents when your opponents are scattered. This move is blockable during the first two hits (although they still deal hefty damage) but the third hit is unblockable. 360 Degree Hammer Spin (Hold Rightclick, release) This is a very powerful AOE ability, however it has one great flaw. Every time you use this ability, you lose a second off of your chaos mode. Since you gain a second when you kill someone, never ever use it unless you feel that it will definately kill at least one person and have a chance for three or more. This move is best used when you first surrounded by a large group of other players. Use this move to knock them all back and then use your standard combo as necessary to finish off the ones who survived. This move is unblockable. Running 360 Degree Hammer Swing (Leftclick+Rightclick) The Running Swing is another powerful AOE ability, however it requires good aiming as it projects your Blacksmith in a straight line forward. This move is best utilized as an opening attack on a group of preoccupied players, from there moving into your standard combo. Although he moves in a straight line forward, the Blacksmith swings his weapon all around him and causes great damage to anyone caught by it. Also note that this move makes you invulnerable, so it is great to use when you think someone is about to kill you and end your chaos. Jump Attack (Jump, Leftclick) The jump attack is a very effective chaos tool for taking out runners, due to it's rather long reach. If you can position yourself accurately while chasing someone, you may be able to catch them with a jump attack, especially if they are trying to jump up a ledge to get away from you. Unless they are a particularly fast character though, its often better to run up close and use your combo. Jump attack is also your Chaos mage repellant, so keep it close at all times. 3.a. Chaos Blacksmith in DM Chaos Blacksmith shines brightly in DM because it is easy to catch large groups of enemies unaware. Keep in mind that you glow blue when you are ready for Chaos, so approach any large group with stealth in mind. Use terrain, walls, hallways, alternate routes, any way to get to the masses without being seen by too many other players. Once you find a group of three, four, or five (depending on total players), unleash the beast and go to work. You can rack up kills in no time, sustaining your Chaos transformation for the majority of the battle. Try not to chase, always look for someone in arms (flails) reach. If you have to chase, it's not the end of the world, but you are wasting time. Make sure you pick a slow target to chase such as mage, archer, or non-chaos Blacksmith. 3.b. Chaos Blacksmith in TDM Chaos Blacksmith can cause some pain in TDM, but a good team will generally try to scatter from the smith, instead of grouping up and going down fast. Use Chaos in TDM games very carefully, because what could seem like an easy three or four points may become a wasted Chaos against competant opposition. Your best bet is to know the stage you are playing on and try to pin people into a back room or hallway before you transform. Ideally you never want to transform until you are close to your opponents and ready to rumble. A non-attacking Chaos is just time wasting away from your timer. 3.c. Chaos Blacksmith in Golem War Chaos Blacksmith in Golem War is a secret weapon used to clear an easy round. Save your chaos at the end of any given match, and once the next match starts, use it as soon as you reach the Gold Golem. You can easily clear out both the Golem and any players attempting to attack the Golem with you. Once they die, they are out for good, so with the remainder of your chaos, either try to kill anyone close by or run for the enemy golem (Assuming you got the sword). With half of their team dead from your chaos, it should not be too difficult to finish the battle. Chaos Blacksmith is not nearly as efficient a blitzer as the Ninja Chaos, but it is effective nonetheless. Keep in mind that you can always unleash Chaos defensively, when your golem gets attacked you can clear out the golden sword and any defenders by going Chaos, however this is not generally advised unless you know your team will win if you stop the attack (because the Chaos could just be saved til the next round to gain your team a probable free win) Chaos Blacksmith Versus other Chaos: Chaos Blacksmith has some remarkable abilities for defeating other "mortal" players, but they are not as effective when dealing with other Chaos players. It is recommended as a Chaos Blacksmith to avoid other Chaos players with the exception of the Chaos Mage, but only if you catch him from close range. The Chaos Mage is the only Chaos class that the Chaos Blacksmith can defeat easily (if he starts close enough to the Chaos Mage). To defeat the Chaos Mage, simply get next to him. Avoid using your combo as Chaos cannot be knocked down, so the Chaos Mage will be able to ice spike you before it's over. When you get close to the Chaos Mage, try to get to the side or behind him and jump straight up in the air and come down with a hammer smash. This will work best while the Chaos Mage is suffering from the delay of the an ice spike. He will either try to run, or face you. If he runs, run him down (you are faster) and jump attack again. If he faces you, run to the side to try to get an ice spike out of him, then when he spikes, sidestep it and run to his side and jump attack him again. I've never seen a Chaos Mage survive three or four of these hits. They work wonders and takes a Chaos Mage out for your team, which is always great. Keep in mind that the non-chaos Blacksmith can follow the same tactics to defeat Chaos Mage. -Raij, Blacksmith
